Assessing needs for urban environmental infrastructure
Filling the role of Environmental Finance Expert, ÆC participated in a Project Appraisal Mission for GTZ to identify priorities in urban environmental infrastructure in India. Responsible for examining and recommending options for the sustainable financing of urban environmental infrastructure and the use of economic/financial instruments for covering the costs of environmental infrastructure services and for reducing negative impacts on the environment. (2007)
Project identification, project preparation
Contracted by ADA to prepare a water sector strategy for Moldova. The strategy provides the basis for future Austrian financial support to Moldova in the water sector (water supply and sanitation, sewage collection, wastewater treatment). (2007-08)
Financing strategies
Preparation (and/or supervision of the preparation) of strategies for financing environmental infrastructure investments, e.g. in Poland and Lithuania, required to achieve compliance with EU directives.
Analytical and comparative studies
Preparation of a report for OECD entitled "Financing Water and Environmental Infrastructure - The Case of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia" (2005). The report includes contains data and analysis on, inter alia, financing of municipal environmental infrastructure. View report.
Research, analysis and recommendations concerning opportunities and constraints for foreign investment in the water/wastewater sector in southern Poland (for Kommunalkredit Austria AG, 2000).
Municipal environmental infrastructure investments: Services provided in cooperation with SST Consult
Following the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the two firms, ÆC can draw upon SST Consult's extensive experience and expertise in the areas of: investment planning and preparation; financial and economic analysis of investment projects; financial models; analysis and formulation of tariff systems; affordability analysis; municipal budget planning and management; training for governmental and other professionals in all the above areas.
