Provision of EFR training

Æquilibrium Consulting provided several GIZ training seminars on environmental fiscal reform (EFR) for government specialists, researchers and academics, representatives of bilateral and multilateral development organizations and NGO representatives. These training seminars were provided to trainees coming from more than 20 countries.

Æquilibrium Consulting provided an "international resource expert" for two eco-finance workshops organized by the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) in Kuala Lumpur and Taipei.

Development of EFR training material

Æquilibrium Consulting contributed to the development of GIZ training materials focused on introducing environmental fiscal reform (EFR) concepts to government officials, decision-makers, researchers and academics, representatives of bilateral and multilateral development organizations and NGO representatives.

Facilitate EFR at national level

Æquilibrium Consulting has been providing support to the Moroccan Inter-Ministerial Working Group on Environmental Fiscal Reform by facilitating the elaboration and implementation of selected EFR solutions and instruments.

Æquilibrium Consulting has assisted with elaborating the Ghana Environmental Fiscal Reform Road Map.

Æquilibrium Consulting has implemented numerous projects focused on specific aspects of EFR, including:
- Establishment, reform or evaluation of green investment schemes and Eco-Funds;
- Development of new environmental taxes, user charges and other economic instruments;
- Facilitation of green procurement
- Promotion of green commercial finance

Preparation of analytical and comparative studies, as well as information databases

Æquilibrium Consulting's Principals were involved in elaborating several reports on the use of economic and financial instruments in environmental policy, including: a Sourcebook on the Use of Economic Instruments in Environmental Policy in Central and Eastern Europe, a Survey on the Use of Economic Instruments in Environmental Policy in Mediterranean countries, a Survey the on the Use of Economic Instruments in Environmental Policy in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia, and a Sourcebook on Environmental Funds in Eastern Europe.

Æquilibrium Consulting published and maintains the eco-finance.org website, an information resource service with worldwide coverage on environmental finance, including biodiversity finance, water finance, carbon finance and eco-technology finance, etc.

Æquilibrium Consulting elaborated a report on experience with Green Public Procurement in Eastern European and Central Asian countries. This report were published as part of a larger EEA/UNEP report on Sustainable Consumption and Production and presented at the "Environment for Europe" Conference of European Environmental Ministers in 2007.
